About Me

Megan with baby Ophelia

I have been doing doula work since 2005, when I started working with a home birth midwife in Madison, WI. This opportunity solidified my dream of becoming a midwife and supporting  families, so in 2009 I moved out to Portland to start school at Birthingway College of Midwifery. In July 2010 I began an apprenticeship with Kelli McIntosh, CPM, and her home birth practice, Full Bloom Midwifery. Between my academic studies, my apprenticeship, years of caring for infants and children, and lots of birth and postpartum doula work, I have a lot of experience and knowledge to share!

I have experience with pregnancy and birth education, labor support, helping resolve simple breastfeeding issues, newborn care, toddler care, cooking, cleaning, sibling education, baby wearing, herbal and homeopathic remedies, infant development and more.

I am committed to supporting women's reproductive choices and nurturing families through their reproductive years! Check out the organizations I am affiliated with to see how I am fulfilling that commitment:

Student at Birthingway College of Midwifery, future babycatcher!
Member of the Future Midwives Alliance, an organization committed to supporting student midwives.
Practitioner at Common Ground Wellness Center, an urban community wellness center committed to integrative healing and ecological responsibility.
Apprentice at Full Bloom Midwifery, attending home births with an amazing midwife!
